Biography
'Previously active on the folk music scene as a singer and guitarist, Julie's musical journey took an unexpected turn when she discovered a love of classical music. As a warm lyric soprano, she now performs repertoire ranging from Baroque music and sacred works to art song, bringing a passion for storytelling and emotional connection to every performance.
Julie was awarded three singing trophies at the Derby Arts Festival 2026, and is delighted to be appearing at the Glow Music & Arts Festival in a new guise: that of a classical singer.
Performing entirely without amplification accompanied by high-quality classical backing tracks, she will present a selection of much-loved works by composers including Handel, Mozart, Schubert, Franck, Bononcini and Saint-Saëns, inviting audiences to discover the beauty and power of classical singing in a relaxed festival setting.
